This is Megadeth’s new song, Kingmaker, for their up and coming album, Super Collider, which comes out on June 4th. From what I have heard so far, this record is going to be huge with the fans. I like the sound and the direction they are taking the music. June won’t be here fast enough. You can also see them on the Gigantour and you can find those dates here: http://www.megadeth.com/killingroad.php.Please take a minute and check out the subscribe feature and while you are there fill it out. This way you are guaranteed to get the weekly updates and any other news I have. Thanks for your support!
I guess it’s becoming more common these days, everyone is forming more super groups, though I think Mike Portnoy has that locked up. But here is yet another one forming. Duff McKagan (Guns and Roses), Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees), Jeff Angell (Missionary Position) and Benjamin Anderson (Missionary Position), have now formed as the Walking Papers. Their debut will be out August 6th
Speaking of Mike Portnoy, his band Winery Dogs have released another video called Desire, check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=avwo76gGTDw
So you are in the know: this super group, The Rides, it features Kenny Wayne Shepard, Stephen Stills and Barry Goldberg. It will be a blues based band, obviously. Their new album, Can’t Get Enough, will be out August 27th.

I guess Sammy Hagar wanted something to do instead of talking about Van Halen and it’s about time. This time he is reforming HSAS but a new version. Neal Schon is back but this time he is bringing in Chad Smith and Michael Anthony. The initials fit but it looks like Chickenfoot part two, to me. Joe Satriani has been touring quite heavily and I think Sammy just wanted to get something out there. They have recorded three tracks for Sammy’s solo album but are thinking of making a full album. Either way, you will hear new music from them soon.
Queens Of The Stone Age have released another video. This one is for If I Had A Tail, which you can check out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjYZToXuJaM&feature=player_embedded
In case you missed it; The Killer Dwarfs are reuniting and plan to tour their Lost album (no it’s not new). It will be re-released with bonus tracks, dates for the release and tour will be out soon. You do remember them right? They had the hit, Stand Alone……oh nevermind.
Last week’s Rockucation question was: This person’s real name is Gordon Sumner and was the front man for a rock trio out of England. What is his name? The answer comes to us from Jean Dale of Warwick, R.I. His name is Sting.
You remember a little while back I posted that Geoff Tate of his version of Queensryche wanted You Tube videos of why you would dislike Frequency Unknown album? That was brave of him, I will say that, but here is Tate reviewing some of the videos and apparently this isn’t the end of it. I don’t usually post things like this, but I thought this was hilarious. Some of the things these people say are classic. Poor Geoff. Check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=De–NWAGmkA
Geoff Tate’s version of Queensryche may be something you may want to see live, since it’s in small venues and he has a revolving door of lots of 80’s hair metal rockers in his band, like Rudy Sarzo and Brian Tichy, etc. You never know who will be at your show. Just a thought is all.
The Rock Allegiance has announced tour dates so check them out here: http://www.rockallegiance.com

I don’t usually comment on these types of things but I feel there is an important message here and think it’s something everyone should be aware of. I had a poor concert experience because of a few morons at a recent Soundgarden show I attended, if they read this, it might have changed the outcome. But read it for yourself and let me know your thoughts: http://www.rockconfidential.com/inside/news/music-news/lamb-of-god-frontman-urges-fans-and-concert-promoters-to-act-responsibly/

Rolling Stone Magazine recently released the worst bands of the 1990’s. Here is the top 5, starting with number 5, Nirvana; 4, Hanson; 3, Limp Bizkit; 2, Nickelback and number 1 is Creed. For the record no one was even close to Creed. Scott Stapp is hated that much according to the article. The magazine was quite upset that Nirvana made it in here at number 5, I thought they should be number 1. You can read it here: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/pictures/readers-poll-the-ten-worst-bands-of-the-nineties-20130509
This week’s Rockucation question is: What band did Mark Farner front and what groupie did the band make famous?
