Lacuna Coil is a well liked band, judged by the feedback from some of you, so I thought I would share their latest video for you. Let me know what you think.
I won’t go into my usual rant about the Rock And Roll Hall Of Shame, but Deep Purple doesn’t get in and Donna Summer does? Public Enemy? Randy Newman? Seriously, do they not get it? It’s not the music hall of fame, it’s supposed to be about rock and these people aren’t it. Smoke On The Water influenced kids to pick up the guitar and the band gets disgraced like this. Sad, very sad! Kudos to Rush and Heart for being inducted, but it took too long.
Fleetwood Mac will be releasing the 35th anniversary of their Rumours record. It will be a deluxe version with live tracks from that tour in 1977, outtakes and unreleased material. It will be out in late January.
Hawkwind guitarist Huw Llyod Langton died at the age of 61. He died from cancer.
David Grohl won’t be touring with Queens Of The Stone Age, though he does play on their up and coming new album. He did say that his side project, Them Crooked Vultures, may tour. If you remember they also have a second album already recorded but not yet released.
Volbeat has announced a tour with Danko Jones, you can find dates here: http://web.archive.org/web/20130306041637/http://www.volbeat.dk:80/2/dates.php
In other great news (at least for me), Alter Bridge is planning a new album and tour for 2013. I expect to see that release for Fall/Winter time of year.
Rush will be releasing the 2112 iBook and it will feature unpublished pictures, black and white ink art and pencil sketches. It will also preview music for the newly remastered audio of 2112 with 3 bonus live tracks for iTunes.
Last week’s Rockucation question was what band did Mookie Blaylock become? The answer was provided by Evan Portno from Coventry, RI with Pearl Jam.
Buckcherry have announced a release date for their new record, Confessions. It comes out on February 19. You can download their first single, Gluttony, on iTunes.
Yes have announced they will be touring and they are calling it the Triple Header Tour for 2013. They will be doing the following three albums completely: The Yes Album, Close To The Edge and Going For One. Keep in mind that this is the line-up: Chris Squire–Bass, Steve Howe-Guitar, Alan White-Drums, Geoff Downes-Keyboards and Jon Davidson-Vocals. It will not have Rick Wakeman-Keyboards or Jon Anderson-Vocals from the original line up but they do tour as YES as well. Make sure you are going to the right gig.
Vince Neal seemingly is following fellow rocker Brett Michaels’ path of reality. Vince will be starring in his own reality series called Vince Neal Escapes. It will be about him following his dream to get a pilot license (scary thought, no?). No date as to when it will air.
This week’s Rockucation question is: What band was Brian Johnson in before AC/DC?
In case you missed it, Stacy Blades quit L.A. Guns.
