Chickenfoot has a new greatest hits plus live album which is coming out on March 10 and it is titled, “Best + Live”. In case you have forgotten who they are, because they haven’t done anything in awhile, let me re-introduce them to you (not that they need it). In my opinion, they are the true definition of a supergroup. Frontman and singer Sammy Hagar, formerly of Van Halen and Montrose. Hagar also has a decent solo career. Bassist Michael Anthony is also of Van Halen fame. Drummer Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers and finally, guitarist extraordinaire, Joe Satriani. Together they make Chickenfoot and their debut was fantastic and their second album which was named 3, was a decent follow-up. You are able to see their tongue and cheek humor, with their songs and the way they named their second album. But the best thing about this album, besides the live material and that all of their songs are in one place, is the fact that they have a new song called, Divine Intervention.
Divine Intervention was played live when the band did some reunion dates at Lake Tahoe last May. You may have seen the videos on YouTube. I love the new song and I was really looking forward to a new album. I’m still holding out hope for one. These guys are so busy with their own bands and projects, that it’s amazing they even found time to do this release. No word on a new album or even a tour. That is something I would like to see happen, but I’ll take what I can get. This will hold me over in the meantime. If you are interested in the track listing and bonus material, you can go to the band’s website and get the details here. You can stream the song below or watch the video.
