Joe Bonamassa is releasing a remastered and remixed version of his debut album “A New Day Yesterday” for his 20th anniversary, but calling it “A New Day Now”. I thought that was a cool an interesting way to revisit his debut instead fo the standard fare we are used to. The record comes out on August 7th and you can pre-order it here.
The lead single is remake of his original cover of Rory Gallagher’s Craddle Rock. Bonamassa’s original version seemed more of an edgier Blues feel then this one. At times I feel like George Thorogood was playing not his one. That aside, I like the approach he took on this song and the record, very fresh take verses outtakes and demos. I did enjoy this version but I’m usually partial to the version that was recorded first. The video is a nice retrospective of his career. Check it out below.
