Stone Temple Pilots Celebrate 25th Anniversary Of “Purple” With Rare Acoustic Version Of “Big Empty”!

Stone Temple Pilots are releasing their 25th anniversary deluxe edition of their sophomore album “Purple” on September 13th. It will have all the usual fixing they come with like rare tracks, live stuff etc. You can pre-order it here. Ahead of its release they have given us Big Empty in a unreleased rare acoustic version. I wasn’t sure what to expect and man was I pleasantly surprised. Outside of hearing  Scott Weiland vocals, you catch the band in their prime in a different setting. When I listened to this I can reflect on the fact that this is what I think of when I think of the Grunge movement. In fact this type of song defines it. You can check out the stream below.
