The Protest has released a new single from their current album “Legacy”. Valor starts of low key but really is a heavy riff driven song. Once it kicks in you know you have something that makes you want to see where it takes you. I have to say the drumming and bass really make this song what it is. It keeps your attention. Josh Bramlett’s vocal are outstanding in this and really shows the range and emotion he can do. Along with his singing is the impressive harmonies. I was actually surprised how well they complimented his voice. Musically, I think they hit it out of the park. The band tends to take a different take on things but always try to stay positive. This song is no different. This a song about hope and rising about those suicidal tendencies we can have when we are in a dark place, but they look at it as fuel to over come. Just check out the following lyrics;
“This is the time for life revolution
Setting a course to reclaim the broken
There is still time left in this fight
Following hearts that lead like a compass
Fire will rise and we let it guide us
Despite the pain we’ll stay unbroken”
I think the message is quite clear that you can rise above and not break. Pretty inspirational words right there. The video shows the band playing and has two characters acting through the lyrics of the song. I feel it’s well done. Check it out below, you won’t be disappointed.
